A catch-all mailbox receives messages sent to invalid email addresses under the very same domain. For example, an email sent to the mistyped suport@domain.com will be delivered to support@domain.com in case the catch-all feature has been enabled for the latter. Thus, you can receive emails from mates or customers who may have sent a message to your email address with a spelling error or to an out-of-date one, which they may still have, but you have already deactivated. Only one single mailbox per domain name can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be activated for such a mailbox. The latter is due to the fact that at some moment you may start receiving spam emails in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding limitation implies that the spam will not be redirected to a third-party mailbox.
Catch-all Emails in Shared Hosting
Setting up a catch-all email mailbox will be rather easy in case you’ve got a shared hosting service with us. You can enable this option through our advanced, yet intuitive Email Manager, which is integrated into the Hepsia Control Panel, via which you will administer the web hosting account itself. You’ll find all the email addresses that you’ve created enumerated alphabetically and on the right side of each one of them there will be a small "Catch-all" icon, which will immediately notify you whether a particular mailbox stores all the email messages associated with a certain domain name or not. With a single mouse click on the icon you can enable or disable the feature at any moment. If there is enabled email forwarding or if some other mailbox has already been configured as a catch-all one for a specific domain name, you will receive a warning notification from our system. The latter will not replace/deactivate anything automatically or without your consent.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting
The custom-built Hepsia Control Panel that comes with each semi-dedicated server plan that we are offering will allow you to set up a catch-all mailbox without any difficulties even in case you don’t have much web/email hosting experience. All it takes to do that is to click on the catch-all icon, which will be next to each mailbox that you’ve created using your domain names in the Control Panel’s Email Manager section. As you can have only one mailbox with this feature per domain, our system will inform you if you have already set up a different catch-all mailbox or if the one that you want to use has email forwarding enabled. If you reach the decision that you don’t need the feature any longer, you can deactivate it by clicking once again on the very same icon. The Email Manager will also permit you to see your catch-all mailboxes at a glance.
